Blacked Out in Brighton #OOTD

It was my second time visiting Brighton, and like the first time, the skies were grey and the pebbled beach hurt the soles of my feet. Human nature demands that we make do with what we have, so the lack of sunshine didn’t stop us from leaving the comfort of our warm dry homes, and bracing the wet seaside (Also, our coach tickets were pre-paid and nonrefundable).

This town on the south coast of England is cheerful and quirky, which kind of makes up for the lack of deliciously warm water and smooth coastline.

For this visit, I chose to wear all black just because. I picked this simple loose fitted shift dress, and I used accessories to bring it to life.

First with my new favorite #KittyCatSquad Denim Jacket which I got by luck from Pull and Bear in a large, on the ‘last chance to buy’ rack. Arguably the best thing to happen to my wardrobe in Summer 2017

Next, I threw on my newly acquired bucket hat. Never say never because I used to say I would never wear one of these. And now i’m wearing AND loving it. I initially put it on for practicality, but I actually think it made by outfit, for lack of better word – so cool!

Finally, I threw on some simple strappy sandals I didn’t mind getting wet and my trusty back pack. If the weather had been dry I would almost 100% have substituted the flats with a pair of all white trainers.

To contrast the weather and my outfit, I put on Relentlessly Red by MAC on my lips.

What’s been your favorite item to wear this summer?
